Elden Ring Nightreign, the co-op-focused spin-off to FromSoftware’s biggest game to date, appears to have been an all-around success for the developer and its parent company, Kadokawa Corporation.
Having recorded more than five million sales back in July, the firm has revealed the game “performed well beyond initial expectations” in a fresh financial earnings report. It’s always been known that Elden Ring Nightreign will receive some form of expansion after launch, but after a handful of post-launch updates involving more difficulty modes and updated boss encounters, it wasn’t clear what form the DLC would take.
The earnings report clarifies a major piece of DLC is still coming, and it will be out by the end of the company’s financial year, which ends at the start of April 2026.
“FromSoftware is currently developing Elden Ring Nightreign DLC (planned for release in FY2025), Elden Ring Tarnished Edition (planned for release in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2), and The Duskbloods (planned for release in 2026),” the firm explained.
Since difficulty modifiers and updated boss fights have already been offered for free, an expansion would need to go one step further with entirely new content for the game. Potential options could include a new map, points of interest, quests, character classes, and more bosses.
Whatever form the DLC in question takes, it was bundled in with the Deluxe Edition at launch, which is £13 / $15 more expensive than the standard version.
