A murder probe has been launched by police after a young man was fatally stabbed in broad daylight.

The 20-year-old victim was attacked around 12.50pm today (Monday, November 10), with emergency services rushing to the scene in St Ann’s, Nottinghamshire.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the young man tragically died shortly after their arrival. The force has yet to confirm if any arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Chief Superintendent Nick Waldram issued an appeal for witnesses and confirmed that a team of detectives are working “tirelessly” to bring those responsible to justice, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

He stated: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family during this incredibly difficult time. They are being supported by specially trained officers.”

“Detectives are already working to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident.

“They want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything which could assist our inquiries.

“No matter how insignificant you think your information may be, we want to hear from you.

“People in the area will understandably be concerned, but we currently believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.

“We know the impact this incident will have on the local community and therefore will be increasing patrols to provide reassurance while inquiries continue.”
