The footy action on Monday night comes from the Championship as Leeds look to steal a march on Burnley towards the title after securing promotion to the Premier League.

Ashton Gate is the venue, with hosts Bristol City aiming to confirm their spot in the playoffs.

Our tipster and EFL guru James O’Rourke is all over this one and he’s got four picks in mind. Let’s get into his Leeds v Bristol City betting tips.

Leeds v Bristol City Bet Builder tips

Over 9.5 corners

Leeds may already have promotion in the bag but deep down they’d like to round it all off by winning the league. Getting the three points here would see them jump back above Burnley into top spot, which would also increase their goal difference beyond the +9 it currently is between their fellow promoted rival.

Boss Daniel Farke said his team did a few days’ worth of celebrations once a top-two berth was confirmed last weekend but now all focus switches to trying to top the division. With this being the case, Leeds should have a fair amount of intent behind them, particularly with this being their final home game of the season.

Bristol City have much, much more on the line here. The Robins would confirm a play-off position ahead of the final weekend of the campaign. How they approach this clash will be very, very interesting indeed. No matter what happens here, Liam Manning’s side will have their top-six destiny in their own hands.

They host struggling Preston on the final day, who are deep in the relegation picture, but they’d rather not take it to chance. I’m expecting them to be quite bold in their approach at Elland Road. Remember, this is a team that has taken points off Sheffield United, Sunderland and Millwall on their travels, plus also drew the last head-to-head at home to Leeds back in October. They won’t be coming to just park the bus.

Both teams see roughly an average around 10.00 in league action this season, so the line is set appropriately. This is more likely to be open than cagey, especially with Leeds now having more freedom and Bristol City already in good control of their play-off aspirations.

Manor Solomon to have one or more shots on target

Manor Solomon probably won’t win the Player of the Year Award at Leeds this season but he would have been firmly in the conversation. One would suspect his fellow winger Daniel James will collect that accolade but Solomon has likely been their best signing of the campaign.

The fact he has managed to keep Wilfried Gnonto out of the team for so long reflects how well he has played. The Tottenham loanee has achieved 20 Championship goal involvements for the season but is also their outright top assist maker. However, he has added plenty of goal threat, too.

The 25-year-old is only third behind teammates James and also Joël Piroe for league goals scored in league action. Two of those have come within the last three matches, as well as three assists in the same period. Solomon is again expected to produce another all-action display when Bristol City comes to town. To further showcase his impressive return over the most recent three fixtures, the wide man also recorded four shots on target.

The Israel international has indeed produced a shot on target in 17 of his 28 league starts in 2024/25 since joining the club.

Rob Dickie to be fouled one or more times

There are certain statistics that attract your attention that leave you scratching your head as to how exactly it has happened. Certainly when it comes to football! One of those involves Bristol City centre back Rob Dickie; a key performer and a big reason for their successful season. The statistic revolves around the amount of fouls Dickie has against him in the Championship. The 29-year-old has received the fifth-highest fouls on him out of all Bristol City squad members.

The centre back has been fouled more than the likes of strikers Nakhi Wells and Sinclair Armstrong, as well as their top league scorer Anis Mehmeti. One reason for this is because of his physicality and is often the main target on offensive set pieces, as well as often being the first to attack the ball on defensive set pieces. Naturally he will try to attack the ball in these situations, making him a good candidate to win or buy a foul.

With that being the case, there is no reason to believe it won’t happen. In addition to this, he is more than tidy with the ball at his feet and will carry the ball out of defence. Leeds will press against this but he’ll still back his ability to play through this, which are also handy scenarios to win a free kick. This player has recent form in the book to back up the likelihood of this happening. He has been fouled in 11 of his previous 14 appearances. This includes in the last match away to Luton, where he was fouled a whopping four times!

George Earthy to be fouled one or more times

After being rested to the bench for the Luton game, George Earthy is primed to be recalled into the side here. Bristol City lost that match and his absence was felt. He had started four games in a row prior to that and is keeping some top talents like Anis Mehmeti and Scott Twine out of the team.

He’ll highly likely be recalled here, plus tactically it should suit him well considering he offers a big presence out of possession, despite ultimately being an attacking midfielder. The West Ham loanee only has three league goals to his name this season, albeit one earlier this month versus Queens Park Rangers. However he is not really in the team for his goals.

Just like Liam Neeson, Earthy has a very particular set of skills. They don’t quite make him a nightmare, but he will be someone Leeds will have issues both trying to shake off and to stop taking up clever pockets up space.

Similarly to his teammate Rob Dickie, the youngster is handy at picking up fouls. This will help relieve his team of pressure, certainly in a tough away match like at Leeds. He has been fouled in each of the last three matches in which he has started. There is no doubting he is in the best spell of his season considering he has finally managed to wrestle down a regular starting point and his confidence should shine in his performance.
