Travelling home for Christmas can be one of the most stressful times of the year—full of traffic delays, cancelled buses, and left behind presents. But the Northern Belle is once again offering a festive trip through the wintry West Midlands countryside that you won’t want to forget.

Named one of “the best train trips in the world” earlier this year, the Northern Belle will set off from Coventry and Birmingham International for a five-hour round trip on Sunday, December 14. It’s rolling out the red carpet for its travellers, from Champagne to canapés, as well as plenty of Christmas cheer.

From the moment you step aboard, you will be showered with luxury, as you’re handed Champagne and canapés, including delicious caviar blinis. It’s then time to settle into your armchair to tuck into a seven-course festive feast served with the finest wines and, of course, Christmas crackers.

With flowing bubbly and the sights of the English countryside flying by, the meal ends with a seasonal dessert, before an award-winning cheeseboard, coupled with a glass of Port. Finally, relax with a cup of Fortnum & Mason tea or a special Northern Belle coffee, along with some delicate petits fours.

Throughout, onboard musicians will be playing festive tunes to put you in the Christmas spirit, while the train’s conjuror wanders from table to table performing seasonal tricks. Like you’re in an Agatha Christie novel (just a bit less, you know, murdery), this luxury train journey is a fantasy we usually wouldn’t afford…

How much is the Northern Belle?

Luxury has never come cheap, but if you can’t treat yourself at Christmas, when can you? The Northern Belle will cost you £395 per passenger (is it any worse than a normal train ticket?) For an extra £95, upgrade to the Laurent-Perrier Class, or for £195, the KRUG class, which comes with several extras.
