Police have locked down a Leith supermarket car park following reports of an assault. 

Emergency services were called to the Tesco supermarket in Duke Street shortly after 10am this morning Tuesday 11 November 2025. 

Numerous police vehicles and ambulances were seen in the vicinity. 

It is now understood that one patient was transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 10.13 to attend an incident on Duke Street, Edinburgh. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and one patient was transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.”

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
