I’m A Celebrity returns to our screens this weekend and a brand new cast of celebrities will battle it out in the tough ITV challenge show. Hosts Ant and Dec are back to present all the big stories live from camp every night.

The celebrities heading into the jungle camp will find themselves cut off from the outside world, and stuck on a diet of rice and beans. Their fate will be in the hands of viewers who have the power to decide whether they deserve to face a dreaded Bushtucker Trial.

One thing all campmates have in common is their uniform, the I’m A Celebrity campmates traditionally wear matching uniforms ever year and one of the colours they sport each year is red.

One main part of the uniform is the red socks contestants wear, but there is a reason they wear them. In 2023, former show medic Bob McCarron opened up about the wardrobe choices for the celebrities.

The medic left the programme after two decades last year and offered show insights to Woman’s Own magazine. He told them red socks were given to celebrities to “disguise” bloodstains.

He revealed the celebrities will be bitten by bugs during their jungle stint which will likely leave blood marks on legs and feet. The red socks are a method of disguising this so viewers can’t see it as easily.

Yesterday, The I’m A Celebrity 2025 line-up was confirmed after weeks of rumours. Excitement is building ahead of the start of the new season.

The first episode will be broadcast on ITV1 at 9pm on Sunday November 16 and will last 95 mins. This 2025 series features another impressive celebrity cast, with a range of stars from different showbiz backgrounds, including soap actors and legendary musicians.

Among the stars heading into the jungle are Shona McGarty, Eddie Kadi, Lisa Riley, Aitch, Alex Scott, Jack Osbourne and Martin Kemp. Others stars have that been named in the lineup can be found here.

A number of stars have already landed in Australia ahead of their stint in the jungle. Kelly Brook was first to arrive and remained tight lipped on her reasons for travelling across the world.

She said: “I haven’t seen my auntie Sheila for a long time so I can’t wait to see her, and I’m so excited that you’re all so excited for me.”

EastEnders star Shona McGarty remained similarly evasive as she joked upon her arrival in Brisbane airport: “I got on the wrong flight. I thought it said Austria. I’m gonna have to ask for directions back now.”

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley was more open as she explained why she has the attributes to perform to succeed in I’m A Celeb. The 49-year-old said: “I’m from the north…we are made of tough skin.”

She added: “I am a Dingle I can cope with anything…We did Dingles Down Under many years and I feel it’s only right we do it again.”
