A teenage girl has appeared in court charged with assault and being in possession of a weapon following a serious incident in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to a disturbance in Colinton Mains Drive in the capital at 6.30pm on Sunday, November 9.
Ambulance crews attended and a 20-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition currently remains unknown.
A 17-year-old girl was later arrested and charged in connection.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday charged with assault to severe injury, carrying an offensive weapon and breaching bail.
She made no plea and was remanded in custody to appear again at court within the next eight days.
It’s understood emergency services were at the scene for some time but the road was not closed. Pictures taken at the time show blue lights in the distance with some traffic brought to a halt.
Officers were also spotted with police dogs and torches. One passer-by, who was visiting a relative, claims she was told to go back inside and “move away” from the area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.40pm on Sunday, November 9, 2025, we were called to a report of a disturbance in the Oxgangs Bank area of Edinburgh.
