1st Severn Beach Scouts, based in Pilning, started their display five years ago, initially using small poppies made from painted plastic bottles, which were then draped over the porch of their Scout hut.
However, this year, the Scouts decided to expand their tribute.
Group Scout leader, Malcolm Biggs, said: “We used a surplus cut off of a shower panel, found an image online and projected it into the board to make the outline.
“We made giant poppies which the scouts carefully cut out with a jigsaw and then sprayed red.
“Once painted the names of the people who lost their lives in Pilning and nearby villages were added to the poppies.”
The poppies were then placed around the silhouette of a soldier.
The display has been well-received, with many positive comments from the community.
The display can be seen outside the Scout hut in Pilning.
