A car has crashed into a tenement building in Glasgow tonight sparking an emergency service response.
The crash happened on Leslie Street at its junction with Shields Road in the Pollokshields area shortly before 7pm.
In images shared with Glasgow Live, a black Renault can be seen crashed into railings and leaning on the basement level, with an eyewitness saying it appears to have “clipped” the tenement building.
We understand there have been no reported injuries and all occupants of the vehicle escaped unharmed. The extent of damage to the building is unknown.
An eyewitness – who confirmed police were in attendance – told Glasgow Live: “We were coming back from the Pollokshields Christmas shopping night up at Nithsdale and couldn’t believe this had happened one block up from the January 2nd 2024 incident.
“If Pollokshields can come together about antisocial fireworks we can unite and campaign for safer roads”, reports Glasgow Live.
Tonight’s crash happened yards away from a similar road traffic collision on Shields Road in January last year, where a car crashed through railings with the front of the vehicle tipped downwards.
Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
