The Celtic AGM in November has the potential to be one of the most explosive in the club’s most recent history.

The Celtic fans’ unhappiness with the board has never been more evident after a failed summer transfer window, a Champions League exit to Kairat Almaty and the treatment of former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers forced the support to vent their anger.

The Celtic Fans Collective was then created with the sole vision of forcing change at boardroom level in order to bring in new people to drive the club forward.

And that vision could now happen after the Celtic Trust forced the club to communicate with shareholders on how to cast their proxy votes in the upcoming November AGM in less than two weeks time.

The Celtic Trust made clear their AGM voting intentions two weeks ago as they plan to place a vote of no confidence in all of the Parkhead board this month.

And now, if shareholders wish to, they can proxy their AGM vote to the Trust in order to either vote for boardroom change or keep the status quo after Celtic emailed shareholders to explain how to do it.

The email from Celtic read, “Dear Shareholder,

“Celtic plc 2025 Annual Report and voting instructions for our 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

“We’re writing to you ahead of The Celtic plc AGM at 10.30am on Friday 21 November 2025 at Celtic Park.
We have been made aware that the online voting system we use has been automatically rejecting any proxies where shareholders have included the word ‘trust’ in their proxy’s name.

“This error relates to company law preventing Trusts from being registered as shareholders in other circumstances. This rule does not apply here.

“We believe your proxy was amongst those mistakenly rejected by the system for including the word ‘trust’ in your proxy’s name.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. As a result, if you are amongst the shareholders wanting to name the Celtic Trust as your nominee, we’d encourage you to resubmit your proxy as soon as possible using either of the following options as the name of your proxy:

“1. An Officer of CT or 2. The Celtic Tst

“This should ensure that the system accepts the proxy and that representatives of the Celtic Trust can attend and cast your vote on your behalf at the meeting.”

When is the 2025 Celtic Annual General Meeting?

The 2025 Celtic AGM will be held on Friday the 21st of November at 10:30am according to a statement on Celtic’s official website.

The meeting will ask shareholders to vote on 14 ordinary resolutions which include reappointing Dermot Desmond, Brian Rose, Brian Wilson, Chris McKay, Michael Nicholson, Peter Lawwell, Sharon Wilson and Tom Allison to the Celtic board.

Interestingly, shareholders can also vote on how the Celtic board are financially compensated for carrying out their duties at Celtic which could set a major talking point in the annual meeting as fans and shareholders get the chance to grill the Parkhead executives.

There is no doubt that the upcoming Celtic AGM is set to become the most talked about in recent history so it is important that shareholders use their votes this year.
