Prince William isn’t happy with his dad, King Charles, if a new insider claim is to be believed.
Per the royal source, who spoke to reporter Rob Shuter, the Prince of Wales is frustrated with the King for signing off on a new patronage for Princess Beatrice. William apparently thinks it is “too soon” and “too risky” for Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s daughter to take on a public-facing role, in light of the recent scandal.
The King’s decision to personally sign off on Beatrice’s new patronage with the Outward Bound Trust is said to have “blindsided” William and royal courtiers. They thought the York family had been “benched” in the wake of the former Prince being stripped of his titles and removal from Royal Lodge.

“William wanted the Yorks out of sight until after the King’s next health review,” the source claimed. “But His Majesty insisted – he thinks the family needs to heal in public.”
This viewpoint has apparently left William’s patience “wearing thin” with the King. “[William] knows the Yorks are poison with the public. His father just won’t see it,” the insider added. Another source agreed. “Charles thinks the family must show unity in front of the country,” the second insider suggested. “But William thinks optics and timing matter.”

This is not the first time in recent weeks that William and his dad have been at apparent loggerheads. Last month, it was reported that the Prince is “deeply unhappy” with the King’s handling of the Andrew scandal, which has been under the spotlight since the release of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir. Many believe this has prompted William to take charge of the situation, pulling the strings behind the scenes.
