Police were called to reports of someone being threatened with a weapon as attempts were made to access an address in Royal Oak Road, Rowley Regis, on Sunday (November 9).

Following enquiries police detained a 16-year-old boy in connection with the incident.

The boy has now been charged with possession of a knife in a public place, attempted aggravated burglary and having cannabis.

He was remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (November 13).

West Midlands Police said: “We continually work with partners to warn young people of the dangers of carrying a knife.

“Everyone including teachers, parents and carers all have a part to play in reducing knife crime.”
