Team Visma | Lease a Bike has over the past few years been host for several quality riders, but in a team with so many leaders, it takes a lot to stand out. Attila Valter didn’t manage to get the freedom he ambitioned in the Dutch team and is departing it at the end of 2025.

“Three great years in yellow and black – and red, white, and green in your case,” Visma wrote in a message shared on social media. “You were a trusted teammate of Jonas, along others, sharing many victories, and always ready to help out when needed”.

Valter joined the team in 2023 coming over from Groupama – FDJ, and that year he finished fifth at Strade Bianche, helped Jonas Vingegaard to victory at O Gran Camiño in his debut, became double national champion and supported the team in their historic one-two-three podium at the Vuelta a España.

In 2024 he backed that up with a Top5 at the UAE Tour, another national title and a fourth place at the Olympic Games Road Race, almost snatching a shocking medal for Hungary. He was a quality rider but couldn’t have freedom in the Grand Tours, whilst in 2025 his performances were significantly more modest. With his contract running out, he wasn’t renewed, and the 27-year old signed a three-year deal with Bahrain – Victorious.

“On multiple occasions, you also showed your own talent for delivering results, a true testament to your versatility. We wish you all the best for the future,” the message concluded. Valter is a winner of seven pro races and interestingly, all were in Hungary. He’s got two time trial titles, three road race titles and back in 2020 he won the queen stage and overall classification of the Tour de Hongrie – his country’s top event.
