Edinburgh police locked down a busy road on Friday evening after an incident involving a ‘van and bike’.
The incident, which took place around 9pm, saw emergency services tape off Clermiston Road between Rannoch Road and Drum Brae Drive on November 14.
Although the exact nature of the incident is unclear at this time, one passer-by claims debris from the bike was strewn across the road and a white van appeared to be damaged.
The bike was lying in the middle of the junction. A number of cordons were put in place.
Around half a dozen officers were at the scene for a number of hours carrying out investigations.
Another concerned local said: “Police have locked down the street from outside the Leonardo Hotel. It looks like it’s a dirt bike on the ground and a white van in front of it.
“You can see police taking pictures, they also have a camera set up. They were moving the white van as I went past at 11.30pm.

“They have three cordons set up and there is about half a dozen officers and half a dozen vehicles in the area. It looks really serious.
“They have pretty much had a lockdown for a couple of hours now, and they are starting to move the vehicles.
“It’s hard to see if it’s a heavy-duty mountain bike or a dirt bike, and it’s lying there in the middle of the junction. I hope everyone is okay.”
