A major concert which had been due to take place at Co-op Live this weekend has been postponed with no new date set.
The Bollywood Big One was originally set to be held at the Eastlands venue on Sunday evening (May 4) and had been billed as one of the world’s biggest Bollywood shows in history, with a big line-up of screen stars, leading ladies, comedians and dancing queens.
Alongside the varied talent that were due to take part were Bollywood royalty and silver screen heavyweight Salman Khan, dancing queen Madhuri Dixit, actress Sara Ali Khan and screen idol Varun Dhawan.
But organisers behind the event said the Manchester show, alongside a date in London next Monday (May 5), has been postponed in light of the recent events in Pahalgam, Kashmir, last week, which claimed 26 lives and injured more than 20 others.
In a statement, promoters apologised for ‘any disappointment or inconvenience’ but said they ‘deeply appreciate[d] your understanding and support’ over the decision to postpone the two shows.
The Bollywood Big One has been hailed as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ experience featuring screen superstars
The statement said: “”In light of the recent tragic events in Kashmir, and with profound sadness, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone The Bollywood Big One shows, originally scheduled for May 4th and 5th in Manchester and London.
“While we understand how much our fans were looking forward to these performances, we feel it is only right to pause during this time of grief. We sincerely apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause and deeply appreciate your understanding and support. New dates for the shows will be announced shortly.”
Organisers are working to reschedule new dates but ticket holders have been advised that they can seek refunds via their original point of purchase.
A statement posted on the Co-op Live website added: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Bollywood Big One on 4 May 2025 will no long[er] be going ahead as planned and has been postponed. We are working with organisers to hopefully schedule a new date and will be in touch with further information. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.”
