A driver ended up crashing and getting bitten by a police dog following a dramatic chase in Birmingham.
Police say the driver was behind the wheel of a stolen Volkswagen Golf R.
Officers spotted the car being driven in the Sheldon area of the city before a pursuit began.

The stolen Golf R was then stung by officers – but this did not deter the driver.

He then crashed the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

However the suspect was found hiding by the police dog team nearby.
He was bitten during the incident before being arrested.
The incident was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by WMP Traffic yesterday morning (November 15), which said: “#RoadCrimeTeam officers saw this stolen VW Golf R in Sheldon where it was pursued.
“During the pursuit it was stung by #ANPRInterceptors before the driver crashed & decamped.

“He was then bitten by a police dog & arrested by us after @WMPDogs found him hiding nearby.”
