Kitchen, bar and events space in Leeds Dock, Fearns, is getting in the festive spirit as they announce a selection of festive-themed activities and events to enjoy at the venue this November and December.

On Tuesday 18 November and Friday 28 November between 3-5pm, both beginner and experienced creatives in South Leeds can look forward to a cosy evening of bringing seasonal art to life with paint and sip brand, Pinot & Picasso.

The sessions, themed ‘citrus pine’ (18th) and ‘alpine magic’ (28th), will offer a painting brief that feels both nostalgic and fresh, perfect to welcome the colder months. A ticket to the painting sessions are priced at £39, and include:

  • A welcome drink upon arrival to help get creative juices flowing

  • All art materials provided (a blank canvas, acrylic paints, brushes, table easel, Pinot & Picasso apron)

  • A talented, fun artist to guide the session

  • A light-hearted, fun time in Fearns’ vibrant setting

Locals can look forward to an evening of powerful and heartwarming choral music on Tuesday 27 November with The Leeds Irish Choir. Starting at 6pm, the 60-piece choir will set the tone for the festive season with a lively mix of traditional carols, upbeat festive favourites, and a few non-Christmas numbers too, all whilst raising donations for Simon On The Streets, an independent charity in West Yorkshire that supports the homeless and vulnerable.

Sean, Choir Director, Leeds Irish Choir, commented,

“We’re really looking forward to performing at Hill Dickinson’s Christmas fundraiser in support of Simon on the Streets, an incredible local charity doing vital work for people facing homelessness and hardship.”

Fearns will also be joining forces with Leeds Dock Estate and Tilly & Primrose Markets on Sunday 30 November, and the weekend of 13 & 14 December to host its collaborative artisan market, where Leeds locals can browse products from independent businesses showcasing their work; from handcrafted accessories and artwork to locally-sourced, fresh produce. Perfect for purchasing thoughtful, high-quality Christmas gifts.

Holly Brown, owner of Tilly and Primrose Markets, commented:

“I’m excited to bring our artisan market to Leeds Dock once more. Fearns is a beautiful space that really allows independent makers and creatives to shine, and it’s wonderful to see such a strong appetite in the city for supporting local talent.”

Heading into December, between 10am-12pm on Saturday 6  December, an exclusive festive bauble painting session will be hosted in partnership with illustration and print design studio, Holly Greenwood Design. The workshop’s host, Holly, will be on hand to share creative tips and tricks to help guests design and paint two of their very own bespoke festive baubles to take home with them; perfect for adding a personal touch to the tree.

No experience? No problem! With all materials provided, the festive workshop is £28 per person, and Fearns’ coffee shop and bar will be open throughout the workshop to provide refreshments to help keep creative juices flowing.

Fearns is also home to a dedicated cocktail menu that includes classics and specialties including the Fearns’ Signature, Bakewell Sour, Cosmo Daisy, and Solero. The venue also serves expertly crafted coffee and boasts a unique drinks menu with a large range of low alcohol and non-alcoholic cocktails, mocktails and beers.

The venue is open seven days a week serving breakfast, twists on classic lunch dishes and, of course, increasingly popular Sunday dinners with vegetarian and vegan options, and is located in the same building as Department, a co-working space on The Boulevard.
