Hot Meals USA provides free meals to Trinity United Methodist Church

  • 17 November 2025

GRAND ISLAND — Hot Meals USA provided free meals to Trinity United Methodist Church members Sunday afternoon following the congregation’s Stewardship Sunday services.

Hot Meals USA is a non-profit organization that provides meals to first responders and victims of natural disasters. A leader from the organization said he wanted to show the church how much he appreciates their dedication and resilience during times of need.

“For us, these folks have always helped us, and this is just a way for us to give back to them just a little bit,” said Richard Cochram of Hot Meals USA. “Plus, we get an opportunity to keep them informed of all the things we’ve been able to do with their support.”

Church members were excited to be a part of the event.

“I’m just so excited about today,” said April Wegehaupt, pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church. “It just got word out that Hot Meals was going to cater it for us. It’s probably one of the largest turnouts we’ve had in a while for Stewardship Sunday, and I am so grateful. You feel the energy of the people here today.”

Cochram said he also plans on serving the community this Christmas in Kearney.
