All the parts of England facing snow before the end of April have been revealed. The BBC Weather team has predcted “air masses of Arctic origin” will sweep in “cooler or colder conditions” later this month – as 23C highs and the hottest day of the year so far, which was recorded last week, are replaced.
Up to 3cm of snow could fall in Scotland, including the Highlands, as well as Lochcarron and Gairloch. The worst of the weather could also stretch to Northumberland, Cumbria and Durham in England, as well as Westmorland and Cumberland.
The worst of the weather is anticipated next Monday on April 14. Furhter south, the North West of England will see the worst of the rain with up to 3mm forecast per hour, according to the modelling from forecasting experts.

In the short term, a Met Office forecast for Tuesday (April 8) explains: “A chilly start with any early fog clearing to leave a sunny day for most. The far north of Scotland however will remain largely cloudy with perhaps some cloud at times near North Sea coasts.
“Warmest in the west.” The evening outlook adds: “A largely clear start to the night, but low cloud will spread in from the North Sea across many eastern areas. A widespread rural frost where skies remain clear.”
The Wednesday (April 9) forecast goes on, saying: “Low cloud and patchy fog lifting and retreating back towards the North Sea throughout the day. Otherwise another dry day with best of the sunshine in the west.”
The outlook for Thursday to Saturday adds: ” Remaining dry and sunny for many throughout, although rain may spread into the far northwest at times from Friday. Feeling warmer for all, but still some chilly nights.”
Today will see patches of low cloud, mist and fog in the north and east to start. Plenty of sunshine elsewhere with the odd patch of cloud. Cloudy only for the Northern Isles, the BBC said.
Tonight will be clear for most. However low cloud, mist and fog will move into northern and eastern areas of Scotland and England. Cloudy for the Northern Isles. Chilly with generally light winds.
