Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were seen out in public last week, in the luxury London borough of Mayfair, for the first time since their father, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) had his titles and honours stripped. The move came as a directive from the King, amid backlash relating to Mountbatten Windsor’s long-standing friendship with convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew has repeatedly denied all allegations of wrongdoing, particularly those in relation to Virginia Giuffre; a woman trafficked by Epstein as a teenager and who claims Mountbatten Windsor had sex with her as a 17-year-old in the early 2000s.
Beatrice and Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, has also lost her ‘Duchess of York’ status and her patronage for a children’s charity, amid emails linking her to Epstein following his conviction for trafficking a minor for sex. One such email sees her describe Epstein as a “supreme friend” – something Ferguson later claimed she only said to appease him following the threat of a defamation case.

According to a lip reader, Nicola Hickling, who spoke to the Daily Mail, the Princesses exchanged some emotional words during their conversation in the street – something that more cynical onlookers have suggested could have been staged, given how rare it is to see the two sisters in such a casual, public setting.
Hickling claims Beatrice told her younger sister “we’re in this together, don’t forget that” and “it’s going to get harder”, along with “we can’t do anything” and “it’s a really anxious time”.
Eugenie reportedly replied by saying “everything is changing”.
It’s reported that Sarah Ferguson will be moving to Portugal at the start of 2026, to live close to Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.
