There will be no trams operating through Victoria Station on Sunday morning in order to facilitate track repair works.

From the beginning of services on Sunday (November 23), until 10am, there will be no trams operating through Victoria, with alternative methods of transport available for those who need it.

The Bee Network shared a post on X, formerly Twitter, which reads: “On Sunday [23 Nov], no trams will operate through Victoria from the start of service until 10am.

“An amended service pattern will be in place until 10am. A replacement bus service will run between Victoria and Piccadilly.”

And further information on the Bee Network website shares that while the work is completed, the Rochdale and Bury lines will terminate at Victoria, the East Didsbury line will terminate at Exchange Square and services from Manchester Airport will operate to Piccadilly.

The Bee Network advised that a bus replacement service will run between Victoria and Piccadilly for those passengers affected by the change to the services on Sunday morning.

For those travelling after 10am, passengers are advised that the services should return to normal between 10am and 11am. The Bee Network writes: “If you need assistance, please talk to a member of staff or use the help points located at tram stop platforms.”

Services will operate every 15 minutes:

  • Bury – Victoria
  • Manchester Airport – Piccadilly
  • Rochdale Town Centre – Victoria
  • East Didsbury – Exchange Square
  • Ashton-under-Lyne – Eccles (via MediaCityUK)
  • Altrincham – Etihad Campus
  • Trafford Centre – Deansgate-Castlefield

From 10am until end of service

Gladiators Live Tour

The Gladiators Live Tour is taking place at the AO Arena, located inside Victoria station, on Sunday, and the Bee Network has issued its advice for getting there taking into account the service changes.

Travelling before 10am:

  • Travelling from Altrincham, Eccles, Manchester Airport or Trafford Centre: Change onto a tram to Exchange Square at Deansgate Castlefield. The AO Arena is a short walk from Exchange Square.
  • Travelling from East Didsbury: Trams will terminate at Exchange Square. The AO Arena is a short walk from Exchange Square.
  • Travelling from Ashton-under-Lyne: Board a tram service and alight at Piccadilly. Change onto the replacement bus for Victoria. The AO Arena is a short walk from the replacement bus stop at Victoria.
  • Travelling from Bury and Rochdale: Trams will terminate at Victoria. Please alight here for the AO Arena.

Replacement buses will operate Victoria – Piccadilly until 11am.
