A man is fighting for his life after he was struck by a car on Lawley Middleway
Police have sealed off a major city route after a man was struck by a car.
The pedestrian was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a critical condition following the serious collision on Lawley Middleway at around 6.40am today, November 18.
The busy road was closed by police in both directions following the collision.

It remains shut at time of publication and a police investigation into the collision is underway.
Officers have been pictured at the extensive cordon which is in place near Curzon Circus roundabout.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and to find alternative routes where possible.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car at the junction of Lawley Middleway and Garrison Circus, Digbeth, at 6.40am today.

“Two ambulances and MERIT trauma team responded to the incident.
“Crews arrived to find a pedestrian, a man, in a critical condition.

“The team of medics worked together to administer advanced trauma care to the man to stabilise his condition before conveying him on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.”
A West Midlands Police spokesperson told BirminghamLive: “We’re currently at the scene of a collision in Lawley Middleway.
“Officers are at the scene carrying out enquiries and drivers are advised to find alternate routes.”
