More Amazfit smartwatch users could be getting the Zepp Pay contactless payment feature. After a recent app update, one user spotted that the United States of America was now a listed region, with one financial company noted below this. This tool is currently available for users in Europe, with certain smartwatches like the T-Rex 3 Pro.

Zepp Pay could finally be on the way to Amazfit smartwatches in the US. The contactless payment functionality is already available for users in various European countries like the UK, the Netherlands and Spain.

Zepp Pay is based on NFC technology, allowing users to link up to eight bank cards simultaneously. It is currently offered in Europe on models like the Active 2 Premium, the Balance 2 and the T-Rex 3 Pro (curr. $399.99 at Amazon). Now, it has been reported by a user on Reddit that the United States of America is listed as an available region for Zepp Pay. Under the US is listed the fintech solutions company The Bancorp Bank National Association. However, users in the US are not able to activate Zepp Pay for the time being.

This change seems to have appeared after a recent app update, version 9.14.2, which began rolling out on November 6th. The release notes did not mention this or any other changes in detail, purely stating that the company had “fixed some bugs”. Zepp Health has yet to make an official statement about whether or when users in the US will be able to make contactless payments from some smartwatches in the future.
