Burglars broke into a home, threatened the occupants who were ‘held hostage’ and then stole cash and valuables before escaping in a stolen car

Burglars raided a Birmingham home, threatened the occupiers and then stole ‘all the gold and jewellery’.
Police are investigating after three burglars are said to have broken into a home in Orchard Road in Erdington last Sunday (November 16) at around 7.30pm
They then ‘threatened two people inside the home, before stealing cash and valuables and then fleeing in a suspected stolen car’.

Details of the terrifying house raid have been posted online, but have not yet been verified by BirminghamLive.
The online post claims a ‘family was held hostage’ while the raiders stole ‘all the gold and valuables’ from the property.
The burglars are then said to have ‘cleaned the house with bleach’ before making their escape in a ‘black Audi’.
The bleach was explained by a person in a comment under the post who said: “Bleach hides any trace of fingerprints, hair , and everything.”

While another person responding to the post said: “Omg that’s awful. That family must have been terrified.
“I hope these thugs are caught and gets a proper sentence not the namby-pamby sentences that seems to be the norm for violent crimes like this.
“I hope the family get the support they need too.”

West Midlands Police has confirmed the substantive details of the break-in without verifying if the extra details are accurate.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We’re investigating after three men broke into a home in Orchard Road, Erdington at around 7.30pm on Sunday (November 16).
“Threats were made to the two occupants and a quantity of cash and personal items were stolen before the offenders left in a suspected stolen car.
“No one was injured and investigators are carrying out enquiries to identify and trace those responsible.
