A global architecture, engineering and consultancy company has increased its footprint in Bristol’s city centre after completing a deal supported by global real estate firms JLL and Knight Frank.
Ramboll works with clients across 35 different countries to provide engineering and architecture solutions to help them introduce sustainable changes to their operations.
It has now agreed a deal to expand its current office at The Distillery development in Bristol by taking up a further 2,300 sq. ft of workspace which will increase its workforce in Bristol to over 100 employees.
The Distillery – in the heart of the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone – is a 93,000 sq. ft office development made up of two buildings.
A Greek bakery and cafe, Bake-a-licious, has recently opened its doors within The Distillery’s ground-floor retail unit, where it sells a range of Greek delicacies including baklavas, spanakopitas and loukoumades.
The buildings now almost fully let is owned by Royal London Asset Management Property, and were developed with sustainability at its heart. Both have achieved a BREEAM excellent accreditation thanks to measures including rooftop solar panelling, smart LED lighting and a green wall.
Hannah Waterhouse, office agency director at JLL in Bristol, said: “The fact that Ramboll has decided to grow its presence at The Distillery demonstrates the value that high-quality office developments like this can provide.
“The letting is testament to the wealth of nearby amenities that city centre spaces can offer which make them attractive places for people to work. The new letting for Bake-a-licious is just the latest example of this and it is great to see a café like this find a new home to bring its Greek delicacies to Bristol.”
Cheryl Evans, head of regional workplace, UK&I and CEMEA at Ramboll, said: “Expanding our presence at The Distillery reflects our commitment to Bristol and our people.
“The building’s sustainability credentials, and vibrant location align with our values, supporting our growth and enabling us to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions for clients while providing an inspiring environment for our team.”
Arabella Pollock at Royal London Asset Management Property, added: “We wanted The Distillery to be an exciting workplace for businesses to base themselves and both of these lettings are a testament to what we’ve been able to achieve here.
“At the same time, it was also important to offer somewhere that supports firms with their efforts to become more sustainable. This is increasingly important for occupiers as they look for spaces that suit both their current and future needs.”
