The Met Office said: “Outbreaks of rain will spread southwards during Tuesday evening, falling as snow on hills with accumulations of two to five centimetres possible in places above 300 m elevation, perhaps locally higher over the Lammermuirs and Cheviots.
“As rain and hill snow clears to the south overnight on Tuesday, temperatures falling to or below freezing will lead to the risk of icy patches on untreated surfaces.”
It comes as temperatures have dropped to below zero degrees today.

Aside from Glasgow, East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, South Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire are all included in today’s yellow weather warning.
The Met Office says those in affected areas should expect icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, as well as the possibility of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
