Sony has confirmed a significant PS5 update for Ghost of Yotei will go live next week on 24th November that adds New Game+, an additional vendor and cosmetic items, stat tracking, and more.

Updating the title to version number 1.1, the New Game+ option is the headliner. You can start up a second playthrough from the main menu and carry over all your gear and upgrades from your first run, instantly kitting you out for a second trek across Ezo. There’ll be harder difficulty modes on offer as well as a further two Trophies to unlock.

In addition, you will now be able to replay pieces of content and have your stats tracked. The trailer reveals a replayable duel where the time you took to defeat the opponent is recorded. An additional upgrade tier for all weapons and every armour set in the game should help you handle these fights more easily, too.

Update 1.1 also adds a new vendor to the campaign, and collecting Ghost Flowers for them rewards you with more than 30 new cosmetic items, including new visual sets, weapon dyes, and an extra 10 charms. Finally, the in-game Photo Mode is getting new settings and filters, while the accessibility options will now offer button remapping.

On the PlayStation Blog, senior communications manager Andrew Goldfarb said: “We’re happy to close out the year with these new features and excited to see what everyone creates in Photo Mode! We’re extraordinarily grateful for all of the support you’ve shown Ghost of Yōtei since our launch last month. Whether you revisit Atsu’s story in New Game Plus or jump in for the first time this holiday season, we hope you enjoy your time in Ezo, and we can’t wait to introduce you to Ghost of Yōtei Legends in 2026! Thank you for playing!”
