On Monday, November 17, the winners of the inaugural British Burger Awards were unveiled at the Novotel Centre Birmingham. The “prestigious” awards celebrate the UK’s top independent operators, high street chains, and street food pioneers.
The overall Best of Scotland prize went to Burger Island in Fife. The hamburger restaurant is situated in the former royal burgh and parish of Burntisland along the northern shore of the Firth of Forth.
Burger Island serves up a wide selection of burgers, including a classic cheeseburger, a bacon burger, and a chicken burger. Other burgers available include the Mac and Cheese Burger with homemade mac and cheese and the Brunch Burger with egg and hash brown.
The restaurant also offers nachos, hot dogs, wraps, loaded fries, and specials such as a Festive Toastie and a cinnamon bun burger. Additionally, customers can enjoy milkshakes and smoothies in a variety of flavours.
