Senior, now 49, arrives with an outstanding pedigree both as a player and coach – most recently assisting Bulls legend Brian Noble in the Odsal dugout in 2025.
His illustrious 18-year playing career began with Sheffield Eagles before he became a central figure in one of Leeds Rhinos’ most successful eras, lifting multiple major honours across a trophy-laden 12 years at Headingley.
On the international stage, he represented England and Great Britain a combined 43 times, scoring 14 tries.
After nine years on the Sheffield Eagles coaching staff, he left the club at the end of the 2024 season and spent 2025 working under Noble as Bradford achieved a third-placed finish in the Betfred Championship.
Speaking about his appointment to Hunslet’s official website, Senior shared his excitement at joining a club with deep historical roots and a passionate supporter base.
He said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be taking up the role of Director of Rugby at Hunslet RLFC.
“This club has a proud history, a passionate community, and a deep connection to the roots of rugby league, and it’s a privilege to be part of that.
“Stepping into this role gives me the opportunity to help drive forward the club’s and the fans’ ambition for long-term success.
“I’m excited to get started, to work with the coaching staff, players, community and the wider Hunslet family, and to build a strong, competitive, and sustainable rugby environment.
“There’s a real sense of potential here, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in taking this club to the next level.”
Senior’s appointment marks another significant step in Hunslet’s plans to develop a resilient, forward-thinking structure both on and off the field.
