Plans to upgrade a road leading through to a business estate from Rodley Lane have been submitted.

Beejay Scaffolding have applied to create a formal two-lane route for vehicles to enter and exit the Ross Mills site. An existing bus stop is proposed to be relocated eastwards.

A planning statement submitted with the application to Leeds City Council said the proposal “…will serve the existing site users at Ross Mills and also future proof the site for any alternative use in the longer term.”

The report added: “The landowners recognise that some investment in infrastructure is required at this stage to maintain a reasonably serviceable site for the existing employment users that remain.

“The landowners still intend to promote the Site as a residential application / allocation in the longer term (post 2033), therefore some investment in infrastructure is required at this stage to maintain a serviceable site for the existing employment users.”

The land at Ross Mills covers approximately 4.65 hectares and comprises both previously developed and greenfield land.
