ENTRIES are now open for the final ranking event of the NIBSA season, the Northern Ireland Championship, which will take place at the Antrim Sports Club and are sponsored by That Prize Guy.
The action starts on the weekend of May 10-11 and continues the following weekend, after which the eight quarter-finalists will be known.
The quarters and semis will be played on Saturday, May 31, with the final over the best of 19 the following day.
Extra ranking points are available for what is the third event in the NIBSA Triple Crown Series, although the bonus for winning all three events cannot be won as Raymond Fry won the European Qualifier and Joel Connolly the Drumaness Masters.
Defending champion this year is Darren Dornan, whose win last year was his first-ever ranking tournament success. He will be among the favourites along with the likes of NIBSA number one, Raymond Fry; his Antrim club-mate and another former winner, Declan Lavery; eight-times champion, Patrick Wallace, 17-year-old Connolly and World Amateur Championship semi-finalist Fergal Quinn.
