2022 was an exciting year for Virginia Community Food Connections (VCFC), a regional nonprofit that connects the community to fresh, local, and whole foods. VCFC’s SNAP and Virginia Fresh Match (VFM) incentive program enables customers to use their SNAP EBT and P-EBT benefits at the farmers market and get up to $30 each week in FREE fruits and vegetables.

VCFC’s program is having an impact! In 2022, at the Dale City Farmers Market, VCFC operated the biggest VFM program in the state. VCFC also partnered with Prince William Farmers Market and Dumfries Farmers Market, bringing the VFM program to these brand-new markets. At all three markets, VCFC distributed a combined total of $164,430 in SNAP and VFM incentives to SNAP shoppers, providing affordable, locally produced food to more than 14,200 PWC residents. Visit these farmers markets this coming season to enjoy fresh, locally produced foods.
