A Spanish military delegation spent five days in Morocco from November 10 to 14 as part of joint efforts to deepen cultural and military cooperation between the two countries, Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR) announced on Thursday.
Led by Major General Marcos Llago Navarro, the Director of Spain’s Institute of Military History and Culture, the delegation’s program began with a working session on November 11 at the Directorate of Military History, where the delegation was briefed on the institution’s missions and achievements, particularly its role in preserving and documenting the nation’s historical memory. The delegation also visited several historical sites and museums, including the North Tower and South Tower Arms Museum in Fes, the fortifications of Tangier, as well as the “Dar al-Baroud” and “Ibn Battouta” museums.
The parties addressed prospects for cooperation, including the “Sala de Banderas” project.
The visit reflects the shared commitment of Morocco and Spain to strengthening collaboration in military history and shared memory, underscoring the depth and durability of the historical and cultural ties between the two countries, FAR said.
