Starting with the Banwell Bypass construction, Knightcott Road and Locking Moor Road will be closed from Monday, November 24, for approximately five weeks.

Max Mill Lane and Beach Road will both see temporary closures from Thursday, November 27, due to works by Gigaclear and Openreach, respectively.

Castle Hill in Banwell will be closed on Sunday, November 30, for six hours for fibre overhead cabling works.

Burlington Street in Weston-super-Mare will be closed on January 29, 2026, for six hours for a pole replacement by Openreach.

A footpath between Mead Vale and Starling Close will be closed on February 2, 2026, for two days to allow Openreach to access a carriageway box.

Maysgreen Lane in Hewish will be closed on February 4, 2026, again for six hours, for safety testing and maintenance works by Openreach.

The council has also announced road closures on B3440 Bristol Road in Weston-super-Mare for night-time resurfacing works.

The closures will be in phases with approximately three weeks between each phase.

Alternative routes for all closures will be available to motorists.

The council is also amending a road traffic order to extend existing double yellow lines in Long Ashton and create a new loading bay and extend an existing loading bay in Weston-super-Mare.

Residents and businesses have until December 5, 2025, 5pm, to submit their views on the proposed changes.
