Motorists in Greater Manchester are being warned to plan ahead this weekend (November 22 and 23) as 21 major roadworks are taking place. Work is affecting two motorways, nearly a dozen major A-roads, and plenty of important neighbourhood roads.

The big projects to look out for are the one-lane overnight closure at junction five of the M56, and the eastbound entry sliproad being closed at junction two of the M67. There are scores more minor roadworks planned too.

Drivers are therefore urged to check ahead, with Christmas shopping congestion and traffic around football stadiums set to add to journey times. To help make Mancs’ lives easier, we’ve made a list of all the roadworks coming this weekend.
