British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for a victim to come forward after a suspected transphobic assault on the London Underground.
BTP said: “Officers investigating a suspected transphobic assault are appealing for the victim to contact police.”
The incident happened at around 3am on Saturday 25 October. A third party told police they were on a Victoria line train when the suspect boarded at King’s Cross and “said a homophobic remark.”
The man is reported to have then harassed someone on the carriage. As the train arrived at Euston, he allegedly hit them on the head with a glass bottle before leaving the train. The victim was said to have suffered a bleeding head injury.
Police have carried out hospital checks and other enquiries but have not yet identified the victim. Officers are urging them to come forward so they can check their welfare and continue the investigation.
Work to trace the suspect is ongoing. He is described as a light-skinned Black man, aged from his late 20s to mid-30s, with afro-style hair. He was wearing a black puffer jacket, grey hoody and black woolly hat.
Anyone with information is asked to text BTP on 61016 quoting reference 418 of 26 October. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
