A statement from the council said: “Some lighting cables were damaged in Hillsborough park following Tramlines Festival in summer.

“Repairs have taken place on the damaged cables, including extensive new ducting to damaged cable runs, to ensure they comply with electrical regulations.

“Following these works, the lights were fully operational, however, due to recent wet weather, a further fault has been found requiring more repair works to be carried out in one location.”

The council said the cost of the initial repairs was around £14,000 and was paid for by Tramlines.

They said the cost of the additional issues caused by recent bad weather are yet to be determined.
