Manchester city centre landmarks have been ‘Banksified’ as Europe’s most popular Banksy exhibition announces its UK debut in Manchester.

‘The Mystery of Banksy – A Genius Mind’ will open at Depot Mayfield on March 13, 2026, bringing more than 200 reimagined works by the world-famous street artist.

The hit exhibition has already attracted more than 3.5 million visitors across 36 cities, from Berlin to Stockholm. Manchester will be the first time the art experience has come to the UK – and the exhibition will run until July 5, 2026.

Visitors will be able to step inside an immersive world inspired by Banksy’s most iconic works, with graffiti, sculptures, video installations and prints all reproduced exclusively for the exhibition.

Highlights include recreations the notorious ‘Girl With Balloon’, a ‘Banksified’ London Underground carriage and a towering seven-foot elephant installation.

To mark the launch, Banksy images have been projected across Manchester city centre from Saturday (November 22), appearing on landmarks such as Depot Mayfield and the Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly.

The exhibition has earned exceptional feedback elsewhere, with more than 96 per cent of attendees saying it met or exceeded their expectations. Organsiers stress the show is not officially authorised – in line with Banksy’s own mantra that “Copyright is for losers © TM”.

Tickets start at £22 for adults, with early bird discounts available through a pre-sale opening on Friday (November 28). Entry is free for children under six, with concessions available for ages seven-16, seniors and NHS workers.

John Carrigan, Director of Cartel Events Limited, said: “We’re excited to launch the ‘Mystery of Banksy – A Genius Mind’ in Manchester, the UK’s hub of modern culture.

“In partnership with Europe’s leading entertainment promoter, COFO Exhibitions, which holds 50 years of experience in revolutionary international exhibitions, visitors can expect a spectacle of reenvisioned accessible artworks for all.”

The exhibition has also announced The Christie Charity as its official partner for the Manchester leg. Funds raised through tap-to-donate points, a charity takeover event and an exclusive artwork auction will contribute towards a new scanner for the specialist cancer centre.

Louise Hadley, Chief Executive of The Christie Charity, says: “We are absolutely thrilled to be the chosen charity for The Mystery of Banksy, A Genius Mind exhibition. It is an incredibly exciting opportunity for us and one that will ultimately benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.”

Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly has been confirmed as the exhibition’s official hotel partner, with art-inspired packages and experiences to be announced soon.
