An East Yorkshire-based off-site manufacturer has secured its place in a £1bn modular building framework announced by the NHS. Premier Modular, of Brandesburton, near Driffield, has been appointed across three key lots of work, designed to support the rapid and sustainable delivery of temporary and permanent modular buildings across UK healthcare, housing, education, and other public facilities.

The company recently won a multi-million-pound contract to deliver security buildings across three UK airports. Premier Modular is also providing buildings to help deliver essential health services at Congleton War Memorial Hospital’s new Community Diagnostic Centre, in Cheshire.

This latest four-year deal will deliver modular and prefabricated building solutions for the public sector. To support the end-to-end delivery requirements, NHS Commercial Solutions’ modular building framework has been divided into three key lots.

Premier Modular is one of only three businesses to be appointed as a trusted partner across all three lots, highlighting the company’s technical expertise across the entire project lifecycle, from initial consultancy through to design, construction and ongoing operational support. David Harris, CEO of Premier Modular, said: “Our inclusion in this strategic framework underscores our strong track record of providing solutions that hit the innovation, sustainability and technical requirements that this sector demands.

“We are proud to support the NHS, central government departments, local authorities, and educational bodies in accelerating the delivery of essential infrastructure through modern methods of constructions. This framework presents another opportunity for us to collaborate and contribute meaningfully to the entire lifecycle of future public sector programmes across the UK, with both temporary and permanent solutions.”

The largest portion of work falls under Lot 2, which has a maximum value of £600m and covers the design, manufacture, supply, installation, and maintenance of modular and prefabricated buildings. Lot 1, valued at up to £150m, comprises consultancy services in areas such as planning and surveying while Lot 3 is valued at £300m and responsible for managed services, including the delivery of medical equipment, IT infrastructure and staffing.

The inclusion in this framework will ensure Premier Modular – which has been providing modular solutions for nearly 70 years – is at the forefront of driving faster, more flexible, and high-quality building solutions across the UK. In the summer, the company delivered its 500th retail “pod” for key-cutting, watch and shoe repairs business, Timpson.
