The event featured an engaging panel discussion moderated by Roxanne Bamboat, a renowned food and travel writer popularly known as The Tiny Taster. The panel brought together three experienced Indian women travellers: Isha Bhansali, a leading fashion stylist and consultant, Xenia Jamshyd Lam, a hotelier, freelance journalist and currently the General Manager at Hyatt Centric Juhu Mumbai, and Reshma Mehta, an entrepreneur and founder of the women-focused travel company Triya Zikhara. Each has explored multiple regions across Spain and shared insights from their journeys, highlighting the country’s blend of safety, warmth, cultural diversity, gastronomy, and immersive travel experiences.

The discussion celebrated Spain as a destination that offers personal growth, independence, and immersive experiences, while underscoring its reputation as one of the safest and most welcoming places for women travellers. The panelists highlighted Spain’s rich culinary and wine culture, dynamic city life, artistic heritage, and the importance of seeking authentic local experiences. They also shared practical travel tips and revealed the Spanish destinations next on their wish lists, inspiring both new and experienced travellers.

Elena Orland, Director of the Tourism Office of Spain in India

Speaking to TTJ about the inspiration behind the event, Elena Orland, Director of the Tourism Office of Spain in India, said, “Before joining the Spanish Tourism Office, I was planning to come to India for a holiday. When I arrived here for work, I began learning about Indian culture, through films, books, and I noticed how prominently women were represented. When I assumed my role, one of the first ideas that came to my mind was to work with women and to promote women travelling. The panelists we chose are independent, capable, and inspiring women, perfect for this kind of event.”

The initiative supports Turespaña’s broader strategy to diversify its offerings and tap into high-potential segments such as female independent travellers, while promoting experiential and sustainable tourism.

The event concluded with a strong message: Spain provides the cultural depth, safety, and welcoming environment for women to explore freely, grow personally, and discover their own “Passport to Yourself.”
