Luxury London department store Harrods has promoted Mark Blundell for a second time in three years, now appointing him chief retail officer. He will be responsible for the “service and standards that create an exceptional customer experience across all Harrods physical retail channels”.

Blundell (pictured above) joined Harrods in 2018 as head of Retail Projects & Retail Services and in 2022 was promoted to Retail director.
Prior to Harrods, he held leadership roles at John Lewis and sister brand Waitrose.
Harrods’ MD Michael Ward said: “Mark is a dynamic leader with a proven track record in managing teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences and strong commercial results. His strategic leadership will support the ongoing development of our high-performance culture and continuing evolution of Harrods as the leading luxury authority.”
His promotion follows the recent appointment of Sarah Myler to the Management Executive Committee as chief brand and reputation officer. She joined Harrods as a director in 2018 and had most recently been leading Harrods international marketing strategy, international business development, communications and events.
In her latest role, she now leads Harrods’ marketing and communications strategy, overseeing all marketing channels and “acting as guardian” of the Harrods brand.
