Celtic and Rangers are going through a bizarre period at both clubs right now.
In scenes that have never been witnessed before, Celtic and Rangers are going through some serious and simultaneous changes in the same season for the first time ever.
In the same season, Celtic and Rangers have both lost their managers. Brendan Rodgers resigned from the Hoops whereas the Ibrox club sacked Russell Martin.
And in yet another big change across the city, Andrew Cavanagh has just dismissed Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart as Rangers’ struggle to catch Celtic continues.
However, the statement that Cavanagh released through the Rangers website puts Desmond’s hatchet job on Brendan Rodgers to shame.

Dermot Desmond was so incensed by Rodgers’ Celtic exit that the minority shareholder somehow was allowed to release his own statement on the official club website.
Bear in mind that Desmond does not own Celtic, but the club allowed him to brand Rodgers ‘divisive, misleading, and self-serving’ and said the former Hoops boss created a ‘toxic atmosphere’ and ‘fuelled hostility’ to the Parkhead board.
Compare and contrast that to what Rangers’ chairman Andrew Cavanagh has just said about Thelwell and Stewart’s departures, the Ibrox executive has just taught Celtic’s largest shareholder a big lesson.
Cavanagh told the Daily Record, “I will not throw dirt on either of them. I think very highly of them both on personal and professional levels. It’s just the reality that the club needs different things today than it did six months ago.
“We’ve already started the hiring process and hope to have appointments soon, but we will prioritise quality and fit over speed.”
Not only did Cavanagh refuse to slate either of the two, the Rangers chairman also made an appearance on Sky Sports explaining and apologising to supporters whilst Celtic’s CEO remains silent and the club’s largest shareholder seems intent on attacking the Celtic support.
Poll: Do you have faith in the Celtic board?
“I want to reassure our supporters that Danny will continue to have all the support that he needs. In the interim, Fraser Thornton, our director, will be assuming the duties as acting CEO.
“Change like this is always painful, especially when it involves people we care about. But at the same time, we’re very excited about this opportunity to bring in fresh leadership to this great club. We appreciate everyone’s continued support.”
Where is Celtic’s next manager?
It’s been four weeks since Brendan Rodgers resigned and Celtic are still continuing with interim duo Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney.
According to reports this morning, Celtic will appoint Wilfried Nancy on the 1st of December.
The Frenchman is said to be bringing in four of his own staff as he looks to start a new era at Celtic.
Hopefully, this will happen sooner so that Celtic can move on as a club to leave this whole sorry episode behind.
