Claire Sweeney has been enjoying time away from work as she jetted off to New York for some early festive fun with her son, Jaxon. The actress regularly shares personal updates and insights into her life off-screen on social media.

In her most recent update, the Brookside legend shared a selfie from New York and wrote: “Thank you to my lovely friend Kyle Craggs for a brilliant weekend and Jamie Wilson Productions and all their team for a successful opening of Two Strangers and all their generosity. A weekend I will never forget.”

A description of the production reads: “Two Strangers is a musical comedy about a Brit and a New Yorker navigating NYC, secrets, and second chances, with a focus on timing and connections.” The musical is by Jim Barne and Kit Buchan.

Claire has also spent time in Winter Wonderland, located in the famous Hyde Park. She posed for photos with Jaxon as they enjoyed food and drink from the Christmas markets.

A further clip posted by Claire showed Jaxon enjoying his first circus. The trip away for Claire comes after a break in her busy schedule. In the same week she flew to America, Claire was unveiled as a special guest in the Liverpool Empire as the Inside Number Nine stage production took place.

In every show a new celebrity guest is unveiled as a “hostage” and on November 18, the Coronation Street actress was unmasked to a thunderous applause and a chorus of whistles.

The Cassandra Plummer star and her son share a close bond together. The 54-year-old actress, who found fame as Lindsey Corkhill on Channel 4’s Brookside, welcomed Jaxon into the world with her former fiancé Daniel Riley. However, Claire and Daniel decided to call it quits on their relationship just nine months after their son’s birth.

Claire had her little boy at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital. The TV star previously told Mirror Mums: “I’m glad I’m a mum at a stage in my life where I’m still in good health but also have the wisdom of having learned a few life lessons. Being older, I don’t stress over the little things.

“In fact, I cherish every moment with Jaxon. He’s my miracle boy – I never thought I’d be a mum at the age of 43 but here he is and it’s the best thing to ever happen in my life.”

Fans of the soap star commented on her latest post from New York. One comment said: “Looking lovely in the big apple Claire” and another said “Lovely to see you happy smile”. Further responses were “Claire you look fantastic babe” and “Beautiful photo darling”.
