I’m A Celebrity has announced the surprise return of a fan favourite. The ITV jungle series is back for its new edition, with campmates settling in nicely to their time on the show so far.
Last week, new arrivals Vogue Williams and Tom Read Wilson headed into camp – and now another surprise return is on the way! Bosses have announced that the live trial – a fan favourite – is coming back.
The last time the live trial aired from Australia was in 2019, with Caitlyn Jenner, Jacqueline Jossa, Roman Kemp and Ian Wright all taking part. Cocktails of Cruelty is a head to head live drinking trial.

Each celebrity that takes part in the live trial will pick two jungle ingredients for their fellow celebrity head to head opponent to drink. When Ant and Dec tell them, they must then drink their drinks. The first celebrity to down their drink and return their glass to the table will win – with the stakes for winning higher than ever.
The live trials have provided some iconic moments over the years, including Gillian McKeith fainting live on air and Dean Gaffney’s sudden appearance in the jungle – and straight into a live trial. There was also a live trial when the ITV show took place in Wales in 2020 owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
Yesterday, in chaotic scenes, the camp was dramatically evacuated amid a horror storm. Insiders said the camp was left “drenched” and that filming was delayed by up to three hours.
A show source told us: “Our health and safety weather contingencies kicked in and we evacuated the celebrities immediately to the Bush Telegraph until the storm passed and it was safe to return to camp.
“The Bush Telegraph is tiny but the only place where the campmates can be evacuated too. With all twelve contestants in there, it would have been very, very uncomfortable. Plus they were all drenched. It couldn’t have got any worse.”
The insider added: “It’s going to be very grim indeed. The wet weather always brings out the leeches, plus a whole host of other biting insects too. After what has seemed quite a harmonious camp, we expect it to get a little fraught from now on.”
The evacuations are only undertaken in extreme circumstances, according to sources. Bosses have a set of highly advanced weather tracking tools to monitor storms.
