St Peter’s Hospice will collect trees from doorsteps across the region, as well as Bristol and South Gloucestershire, from January 9 to 11, 2026.

Residents are asked to make a suggested donation of £20-£25 per tree.

Every penny helps St Peter’s Hospice continue supporting patients and their families as they deal with serious illness and bereavement.

This year, the collection service has been expanded to include more households in the BS6, BS8, and BS11 postcodes.

Caitlin Logan, events fundraising manager at St Peter’s Hospice, said: “Last year, our amazing supporters helped us raise £20,000 through the Christmas tree collection, and we collected over 1,000 trees from doorsteps across the area.

“This year, we hope to raise even more.

“The support of residents across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire is vital for making this happen.

“Every tree collected helps us provide vital care and comfort for patients and their families, while also protecting the environment.

“It’s an easy, meaningful way to make a difference to your community.”

Residents can sign up for the collection using their postcode and leave the trees outside their homes on January 9.

All trees will be collected by the end of the day on January 11.

The trees will be recycled and turned into wood chippings to be used as mulch at local allotments, as enrichment for animals at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, or converted into energy via a biomass boiler at Blaise Plant Nursery.
