Roy Cropper’s penpal mystery continues in the ITV soap next week

Things are taking an even darker turn for Todd Grimshaw as his relationship with Theo Silverton continues to break him down in upcoming Coronation Street scenes. But will he finally fight back?
At the start of next week, Theo persuades Todd to lie low in the flat for a few days as he wouldn’t want people to see his injuries and jump to the wrong conclusion – despite having attacked him in a horrifying display.
Todd reluctantly complies, and when Summer Spellman reveals that Todd’s cancelled on her as he’s gone to London, Theo plays along. But really, he’s alone in the flat and as a restless Todd peers out of the window, someone looks up and he hides.
But it was too late, as we’ll see Summer find Theo in the pub and telling him she saw someone in the flat, she claims it must be a burglar. With little choice, Theo says he’ll check it out and when Gary Windass and Ben Driscoll insist they’ll go with him as back up, are Theo’s lies about to be exposed?
Having heard about the burglary, Dev Alahan calls at the flat. But when Todd emerges from the shower, he’s forced to cover, making out he’s just back from London and the cut on his head is the result of a drunken afternoon.
Later, Theo presents Todd with a fitness watch and suggests that now he’s ‘back from London’ he should carry on with his training and set himself a 10k goal, leaving Todd’s heart to sink. As he returns from his run in agony, Christina Boyd takes him in for a cuppa, but as she does, Theo’s face darkens.

As the week draws to a close, Theo shows Todd the exercise bike he’s bought for him, a passing Summer and Billy Mayhew notice the cut on Todd’s face. Theo quickly explains that Todd injured himself whilst partying in London, but Billy’s not convinced.
Later, Todd’s trying out the bike when Danielle arrives, explaining that she’s taking the kids to Tenerife for Christmas. Todd’s horrified, expecting Theo to be furious. But when he walks in Theo backs up Danielle.
Afterwards, Theo checks his fitness app and berates Todd for only doing one sprint. When he then tries to blame Todd for Danielle’s decision, Todd loses it. Declaring he can’t take anymore, Todd prepares to leave. But when Theo starts slapping himself in the face, Todd’s stunned. What will he do?
Elsewhere on the cobbles, Lisa Swain tells Carla Connor that despite what she thinks, it’s her she wants to be with. But will Carla be swayed from her decision to call time on their romance?
Meanwhile, with DI Costello still in hospital, Lisa tells her former wife, Becky Swain, that they may have traced the lad who attacked the head of Weatherfield’s CID and he goes by the name of Soap. Becky makes out she’s never heard of him, before meeting up with Soap to retrieve Costello’s burner and personal phone but as he hands them over, they hear police sirens.
Soon, Lisa tells Becky the doctors are bringing Costello out of his induced coma. But before they do, at the hospital, Becky checks the coast is clear, before grabbing a syringe, intent on killing him before he regains consciousness. However, as she suddenly comes face to face with Lisa, is the game up?
Still trying to get to the bottom of what happened, DC Kit Green tells Carla that he knows Becky is involved in the attack on Costello but without his phone, it’s going to be difficult to prove. Having clearly not gone through with her murderous plan, in the hospital, Becky striked up another idea as she chats to Costello’s daughter.

She manages to glean that her birthday was on September 22nd and a she shows Becky some holiday snaps on Costello’s Ipad, Becky makes a mental note of the screen password. But as Kit tells Lisa they’ve managed to locate Costello’s phone, is Becky too late?
Elswhere, Will Driscoll smiles as he reads a text from Megan telling him that she’s applied for a job at Weatherfield High. In the Rovers, Megan tells Daniel Osbourne she’s had an email confirming her interview. He’s pleased and coyly asks her out and is delightedwhen Megan accepts his offer, Daniel’s delighted. But as Will fumes, will he give the game away?
Later, Liam Connor quizzes Will about his life in Hull and wonders if he’s got a girlfriend. But Will takes offence and Liam’s mum, Maria Windass, is horrified to see Will squaring up to her son.
Meanwhile, in the Rovers, Megan ends a call and announces that she got the job at the school. As Daniel kisses her on the lips, it becomes passionate and a heartbroken Will is left to watch on.

And things aren’t looking much better for Will’s brother, Ollie. When he suggests they spend Christmas Day together, Dee-Dee refuses to commit, leaving him put out. It’s then at the end of the week that Ollie reveals that Dee-Dee’s dumped him, leaving his grandmother Maggie offering to have a word. But it seems there’s more to the story as Dee-Dee confides some big news in Alya.
Also on the Street, Debbie Webster rehearses her speech for the Women in Business event but loses her thread and it’s Carl Webster who assures her it’s fine to read from notes.
As the event starts, Carl tells Debbie he needs the log in details so he can pay the staff. Debbie tells him where he can find her notebook, before she takes the stage and introduces herself.

But as she tries to consult her notes, she finds the screen locked and in panic, can’t remember the password. Closing her iPad, Debbie decides gives a heartfelt speech and explains she’s been diagnosed with dementia, what that means for her future and how she intends to fight it all the way.
Also, Roy Cropper’s flustered at work and when Nina Lucas reveals that he received a letter this morning which seemed to unnerve him, Shona Platt decides to go through his post to get to the bottom of it. But, how will Roy react when he finds Shona rifling through his post?
