A new collection of independent hotels and private residences unveils hidden corners of Spain to international travellers for the first time.

A group of extraordinary Spanish boutique hotels – long celebrated by locals yet little-known beyond Spain – has been brought together on the international stage for the first time with the launch of The Authentic Heritage collection, a new hallmark of independent Spanish luxury hospitality.

Created by Rafael Perez Navazo in 2021 for the Spanish market and now debuting
globally, the collection presents a handpicked portfolio of privately owned hotels and
residences that offer rare access to Spain’s most characterful destinations. Each
property, with just 9-35 guestrooms each, spans recent openings like Eunice Hotel
Gastronomico in Salamanca to celebrated pioneers such as Atrio in Ca ceres and Molino de Alcuneza in Castilla La Mancha, which will mark their 40th and 30th anniversaries in 2026.

Each property is selected on an invitation-only basis and chosen for its ability to preserve and interpret the cultural, architectural, and culinary identity of its region. While distinct in design and experience, all hotels in the collection share a commitment to small-scale, meaningful tourism over mass-market appeal.

Spanning the rugged culinary heartlands of northern Spain, the little-explored medieval
towns of the central regions, the timeless patios of Andalucí a, and the Balearic elegance
of Ibiza, the collection opens doors to experiences that remain largely hidden to international travellers.

“Spain has countless family-owned hotels that are truly extraordinary,” says Rafael Perez Navazo, CEO and founder of the collection. “We created The Authentic Heritage Collection to spotlight the independent projects that embody our country’s culture, history and gastronomy. Our aim is to provide travellers with a trusted way to discover the Spain that Spaniards know best.”
