As Wilfried Nancy’s move to Celtic nears, it is not inconceivable that he may cast admiring glances to the Columbus Crew players.

Celtic have already been linked to striker Wessam Abou Ali this week after it was reported that Nancy could join the Bhoys on the 1st of December.

We already suggested that Celtic should try and sign Diego Rossi due to the Parkhead club’s need for a new first-team striker.

And speaking about Nancy’s imminent arrival at Celtic, MLS expert Tom Bogert was asked if the incoming Parkhead boss could look to bring some of his former players to Glasgow with him.

Rossi has been on fire this season with 19 goals in 37 games as the Uruguayan international takes the MLS by storm.

However, if Celtic want him, he will be expensive according to Tom.

Bogert told Sky Sports Scotland, “I can think of a few, but I doubt that the finances will be there. You tell me.

“It is not going to be cheap. Celtic have been linked with Palestine international forward Wessam Abou Ali.

“I would be absolutely shocked if Columbus even considers any potential move. They signed Abou Ali in the summer for around $10m and he got hurt.

“He looked really good. He played a handful of games. There’s no way that they’re gonna let him go.

“Diego Rossi is the club’s best player. Celtic would need to pay more than $10m, if not more, to even be in a negotiation.”

Tom Bogert tells Celtic there is a Columbus player they could get for $3m

There is no doubt Nancy will want to strengthen Celtic when he arrives at the club, and Bogert names a player they could possibly tempt Columbus Crew to sell.

Bogert continues, “Max Arfsten is a guy who I think could be possible in the $3m to $5m range. But again, Columbus aren’t going to want to lose these players.

“Those are three that I could come up with quickly. It ain’t going to be cheap if they want to go down that road.”

Arfsten is a left winger, so to quote Brendan Rodgers, ‘We’ve got a million wingers.’
