WASHINGTON (TNND) — Turning Point USA will throw its support behind Vice President J.D. Vance for president in 2028, according to Erika Kirk.
When Kirk was on the Megyn Kelly Channel, she said that there are efforts “in the works” to support Vance if he runs for president in the future.
Erika’s husband Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated earlier this year while he was speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.
Erika, Charlie Kirk’s widow, took over as the CEO after her husband’s death.
Erika said one of her last conversations with Charlie was about “how intentional he was about supporting JD for ’28,’” according to The Hill newspaper.
“Let’s start with the midterms before we start jumping to ’28,” Erika said. “And let’s enjoy the fact that we do have Donald Trump in office, and we worked really hard to make that happen, my husband did.”
Earlier this year, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Vance would be a good presidential candidate for 2028.
“Well, I think JD Vance would be a great nominee … if he decides he wants to do that,” Rubio said during an interview with Lara Trump. “And so … I think he’s doing a great job as vice president. He’s a close friend, and I hope he intends to do it.”Vance said he wants to focus on the midterms before discussing a potential run in 2028.Comment with Bubbles

“So we’re going to win the midterms, we’re going to do everything that we can to win the midterms, and then after that, I’m going to sit down with the president of the United States and talk to him about it,” Vance said earlier this month.
