After Liverpool’s ninth defeat in 12 matches, fans went online to voice their frustration at the team and Arne Slot, with many calling for a change.
While Liverpool are far from out of the Champions League, the Reds’ 4-1 defeat against PSV felt like a knockout blow.
Slot’s side performed better than against Nottingham Forest – not a high bar admittedly – but they once again failed when it mattered most with individual mistakes.
The intensity returned in the first half but psychologically, Liverpool fell apart again after PSV retook the lead.
Liverpool’s run of results and lack of improvement means Slot’s position is becoming increasingly precarious in the eyes of fans.
It is incomprehensible how bad Liverpool have become.
Can’t recall seeing a top team look more poorly coached or like they’ve got less belief in what they’re supposed to be doing.
Felt like everyone involved – on the pitch, touchline, and in the crowd – fully gave up tonight.

When Arne Slot first came to Liverpool we were promised a cut throat tactician who would be bold in his stances and held high standards but all we’ve seen him is cling on to favourites with no meritocracy. This, is appalling.

Arne Slot is a league-winning Liverpool manager, one of only two in the last 35 years, and deserves every respect. However, I’m not sure he can or should survive this. Nine defeats in 12 and seven goals conceded in the last two at Anfield. This squad is so much better than that.

Slot basically picked the same team again and expected a different result?
No fight, no identity, no plan. Awful.

“Hodgson and Brendan Rodgers are the only two managers I’ve wanted to get the sack, apart from those two I’ve stuck by every other manager since I’ve been supporting Liverpool in 2004.
“But I don’t know if I can continue supporting Slot, it’s gotten that bad now. This season is a nightmare” – NuMetalfan1996 in the This is Anfield comments
Does anyone think Arne Slot might have lost the dressing room?
There’s a lack of desire and identity.

Players have been poor…some more than others…but Slot seemingly running out of ideas and unable to inspire them.

“Slot is completely clueless now and has lost the plot with this group of players, showing no clear game plan. Gomez and Robertson are left on the bench while he keeps playing Konate and Kerkez” – Lobosco in the This is Anfield comments
Steven Gerrard has summed it up.
This isn’t an attitude issue with players but, a mentality issue. If you haven’t got the mentality you’re not going to win games.

It’s genuinely quite remarkable how the rub of the green – and the inexplicable moments of absolute quality – that go against you when the chips are down.
An absolute worldy of a pass there with Liverpool well on top in the game and it’s 1-2.

“Sad thing is Slot will again acknowledge there isn’t much wrong with the team. He’ll point how at 1-1 we were the much better team. That kind of denial is being used to mask the bleeding in defence. What does he do in training? The same mistakes are being repeated EVERY game!” – Lamda Pi in the This is Anfield comments
The fundamental problem with this team is Slot, he has sent a clear message to the players – performances count for nothing, if I like you, you play.

This is not acceptable. These players have stopped playing. And a team that has conceded 2 in almost every game this season persists with the same Center backs. No way Gomez is worse than this. Win 2 with Robbo and now he can’t get a start again. Salah and Gakpo

Three straight defeats by three goals. This is embarrassing. Losing 4-1 at home in the European Cup is unacceptable. I don’t know where Arne Slot goes from here because it’s getting worse each week. That only spells one thing.

Arne Slot claimed on Saturday that he thought the players were still playing for the manager. He surely can’t claim that tonight.

Groundhog day. We’ve seen this performance from Liverpool too many times in the last two months.
Just as you think they are gaining some momentum, an individual mistake sends the Reds back to square one.
At the moment, it feels like Liverpool are spiralling. If Slot is to turn this around, it would be the biggest achievement of his young managerial career.
